MoveStrong Partnership with Faith Walk Community: Redefining Community Fitness Through Large-Scale Obstacle Design
MoveStrong is proud to highlight its partnership with Faith Walk Community Fitness Park in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, an ambitious, mission-driven project opening May 29, 2026. Faith Walk Community Fitness Park is a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to strengthening individuals and families through physical, mental, and spiritual growth, creating a unique environment where fitness and community connection come together.
Over the past several years, MoveStrong has worked closely with Faith Walk ownership to design and deliver a one-of-a-kind obstacle fitness course integrated directly into the community park experience. This project reflects MoveStrong’s continued commitment to large-scale parks and recreation developments that serve diverse populations, encourage active lifestyles, and elevate community engagement.
Faith Walk’s vision centered around creating a long-term faith and fitness experience that could engage entire communities across generations. As part of that vision, the organization developed both a faith-based interactive app experience and a large-scale physical fitness component designed to challenge and inspire participants of varying abilities. After evaluating multiple options, the project team selected MoveStrong to help bring that vision to life.
“MoveStrong was the best partner for numerous reasons: their equipment was the best quality we could find; they had the most variety of obstacles; they had the quantity we needed of 20 distinctly different obstacles; and they were super responsive and a joy to work with in the process.”
Large-Scale Obstacle Design Built for Community Use
At the core of the park is a fully custom obstacle fitness course designed for simultaneous use by two participants, allowing for continuous flow and shared challenge experiences. This dual-lane design supports higher capacity while encouraging both individual achievement and group participation. A dedicated warm-up zone accommodates groups of up to 100 users, creating space for stretching, preparation, instruction, and team-based programming before entering the course.
The obstacle course incorporates 20 distinct obstacles inspired by large-scale ninja-style training environments. MoveStrong’s extensive obstacle variety allowed the project team to create a course experience that balances accessibility, progression, and advanced-level challenges within a single integrated environment.
Designed for All Ages and Fitness Levels
Accessibility and scalability were foundational priorities throughout the design process. MoveStrong worked closely with Faith Walk to create a course that feels welcoming to beginners and families while still delivering meaningful challenges for experienced athletes and competitive users.
The obstacle selection intentionally includes a wide range of difficulty levels. Introductory elements help users build confidence and develop coordination, while larger signature obstacles create opportunities for advanced performance training and competition-style experiences.
Faith Walk leadership emphasized the importance of designing a space where participants can continually grow:
“Our goal was to create an environment where everyone can participate, improve, and celebrate progress, whether they are taking their very first step toward fitness or striving to become a Guardian Warrior Champion.”
To support usability and engagement, MoveStrong integrated clear instructional guidance throughout the course, including QR code instructional decals that provide on-demand demonstrations and user guidance at each station. Comprehensive instructional overview signage further helps participants understand obstacle flow, safety, and progression before beginning their run.
Custom Design, Safety, and Performance Surfacing
MoveStrong provided full layout design, engineering, and installation of all custom obstacle elements throughout the park. A key feature of the project is the fitness performance surfacing system, which integrates impact-absorbing safety padding engineered to meet fall-height safety requirements while maintaining long-term durability and athletic performance.
One standout feature is the 10-Ring Traveling Rings Frame, which serves as both a visual centerpiece and a high-level functional training obstacle within the course layout. Additional large-scale elements, including warped wall challenges, further reinforce the park’s emphasis on progression-based obstacle training experiences.
The final result is a professionally designed obstacle environment capable of supporting recreational users, structured programming, large community events, and future competitive experiences.
Branding, Identity, and Shared Vision
In collaboration with Faith Walk, the project integrates custom branding elements throughout the park environment, including the shared message “Love Life. Move Strong.” Embedded directly into the surfacing design, the message reinforces the project’s combined focus on movement, resilience, wellness, and community connection. For Faith Walk, the message extends beyond physical fitness alone.
“Move Strong reflects the importance of strength, discipline, perseverance, and growth. That includes physical fitness through the obstacle courses, fitness stations, walking paths, and challenges—but it also points to emotional and spiritual resilience.”
The Faith Walk Community Fitness Park will be introduced through a multi-phase grand opening approach, allowing the community to experience the course progressively as additional features and programming elements are unveiled over time.
Expanding MoveStrong’s Role in Community Infrastructure
This project represents a continued expansion of MoveStrong’s capabilities in large-scale community fitness environments. Beyond traditional facility installations, MoveStrong is helping shape the future of parks and recreation through immersive, durable, and inclusive fitness experiences designed for long-term community impact.
Projects like Faith Walk demonstrate how obstacle-based fitness environments can serve as more than standalone recreational features. Through thoughtful design, scalable accessibility, and purpose-driven collaboration, these spaces can become long-term gathering points that encourage physical activity, social interaction, perseverance, and community engagement across generations.
As Faith Walk Community Fitness Park prepares to welcome the public, the project stands as another example of how MoveStrong continues to partner with organizations seeking to redefine what modern community fitness spaces can become.
