MoveStrong Training Event & Ribbon Cutting at The LINC

Ribbon Cutting at The LINC

After two years of planning and installing, the new outdoor fitness court at The Linc in Jefferson City was officially opened with a ribbon cutting and training event on Thursday. Despite the hot temperatures, locals and students of Lincoln University came out to learn about the various uses of the new equipment and were able to try them out in a Movestrong led group workout.

Over the years, we’ve continued to grow with increased fitness opportunities. Today, we celebrate another edition as we celebrate the MoveStrong functional fitness area.
— Jeremy Faulk, Chief of Staff at Lincoln

MoveStrong’s Outdoor Functional Fitness Zone is ideal to serve a large variety of people with different lifestyles, fitness levels, and goals. Installed right off the greenway, the 38’ x 38’ site is divided into different training zones, each focusing on another training aspect. Whether athletes want to improve balance and agility, work on strength and power, do a sweaty cardio session or stretch the joints and muscles, the proven FitGround equipment and specialty surfacing provide comfort, instruction, and diversity while working out.

Exercise is super important. Being outside in fresh air and sunshine is super important. You’re driving to work, sitting at work, you’re watching TV, why go the gym and sit on the machine, right?
— Jared Kuka, Founder and CEO of MoveStrong

Other than traditional gym equipment, MoveStrong’s fitness sites focus on full body movement that supports everyday activities and overall wellbeing. The Movestrong team demonstrated the most efficient use of the tools and showed how to scale each exercise to different fitness levels and abilities subsequent to the Ribbon Cutting ceremony by the chamber of commerce, and followed by the first workout class.

Jeremy Faulk, chief of staff at Lincoln, said the six-year-long partnership between the university and the parks department has led to further health and wellness opportunities within the Lincoln campus and the Jefferson City community as a whole. The event kicked off the opening of the new fitness site for the public and was a big success for all participants.
