MoveStrong X Quest Swimming
Quest Swimming is a year round competitive swimming program in Virginia, teaching the art of swimming and perfecting the game of race. An open piece of land and the vision of fun workouts for athletes to maximize their performance were the starting point of a partnership with MoveStrong.
“We have been big fans of MoveStrong for the past few years. When we were deciding what to do with the open piece of land, it was an easy decision to work with MoveStrong. We applied for the grant program and we were ecstatic to partner with MoveStrong to help our athletes reach their potential, and have fun while doing so.”
The new training site is one of three options featured in the MoveStrong Grant Sponsoring program and combines our brand new traveling rings plus a complete functional fitness zone to strengthen the muscles, combat restlessness and keep the body moving.
“This layout fits the space that we have perfectly. Itβs big enough for our large team, but small enough where we will continue to teach athletes the proper technique to get stronger and faster and avoid injury.”
With a broad range of ages, goals and abilities among the swimmers, Quest was looking for a training site allowing for a large variety of scaleable exercises and activities. Functional Fitness improves strength, endurance, agility and balance significantly, benefitting other sports performances and everyday movements.
As part of the new Quest strength and conditioning center, a sled, agility ladder and dots, tire flip station, battle rope,fitness rings, plyo steps, elite bars, push up, pull up and ladder bars and an elevate trainer will be available to athletes along with the new traveling rings, a super fun and effective exercise to include in any workout.
Specialty surfacing provides guidance and safety on the site, and rounds off the overall look.
“The MoveStrong complex will be used by all members of the Quest Swimming family, from our youngest swimmers to our older and more experienced swimmers β everyone will benefit from this amazing project. We are excited to develop strength, power, athleticism, and coordination outside of the pool and transfer it to our athletes that are looking to drop time and break records in the pool! We canβt wait to have this amazing addition complete on our campus.”
