NEW NC State University Wellness Center Adds MoveStrong
The Newly Renovated Carmichael Center
Since 1961, the Carmichael Gymnasium has served the recreation, fitness and wellness needs of the Wolfpack community. This storied space has evolved with an expansion in 1987 through the current renovation phase. MoveStrong is proud to add our Nova FTS as part of the school’s product lineup. NC State is dedicated to offering its students a place to take their health and wellness seriously. Checkout their goals for expansion:
Creates a centralized hub of recreation and wellness for campus.
Creates primary access point by connecting the Gym and Recreation Center.
Provides additional 20,000-square-feet of much-needed fitness space. Specific spaces include additional fitness centers (informal strength and conditioning), functional training space, performance studios, small group training and multipurpose spaces.
Creates new recreation space that will include: state-of-the-art climbing center dedicated for recreational use, wellness space, teaching kitchen and more.
Addresses more than $7.5 million of deferred maintenance project and failing infrastructure.
Addresses significant health, safety and code deficiencies, including ADA accessibility.
The nova FTS
The MoveStrong Nova FTS — outfitted with multiple points of contact for endless uses — allows multiple users and group workouts.. And, because of Covid restrictions, the Nova FTS size allows users to workout with training features customized and strategically placed for distancing. This Nova XL model FTS was outfitted with Revolving Pull Up Bar, arched and dual height Monkey Bars, battle rope anchors, globe grips, medicine ball targets, and multiple attachment points. The XL Arch Bridge was designed at the request for more open space under a multi-height suspended bridge. The Nova XL is ideal for those facilities with the floor space to provide countless amount of functional fitness exercises with a focus on more overhead modalities for suspending fitness tools such as Climbing ropes, rings, grip training tools, Aerial Yoga hammocks and Silks, suspension trainers, boxing/MMA heavy bags, and more.
This is our second large installation for NC State. We previously designed and installed a custom FitGround outdoor exercise and wellness area. And, as always, we provided branded design catered to the school’s specific space.
