How Club4 Fitness Expanded Functional Training with the MoveStrong Staircase & Ramp
Creating a memorable fitness experience requires more than filling a facility with traditional strength and cardio equipment. Today's members are looking for training that feels purposeful, engaging, and applicable to everyday life. For Club4 Fitness, that meant investing in a training solution that could deliver functional movement, versatile programming, and a unique member experience. The MoveStrong Staircase & Ramp was designed specifically to meet those goals.
When MoveStrong Founder Jared Kuka first discussed the concept behind the Staircase & Ramp, the focus was clear: bring locomotion training into the fitness environment in a meaningful way.
“MoveStrong designed, engineered, and built the training staircase and ramp for locomotion training where we’re moving one leg in front of the other, and adding resistance with steps and ramps. We want to incorporate all facets of fitness.”
Unlike traditional machines that often isolate movement patterns, the Staircase & Ramp encourages users to move naturally through space while developing strength, coordination, balance, and work capacity. The result is a training experience that challenges members in new ways while remaining accessible to a wide range of fitness levels.
For the Club4 team, versatility quickly became one of the most valuable aspects of the training station.
“It’ll be more like functional training. That’s what I love. It’s a variety and it doesn’t get boring.”
That variety has become increasingly important as fitness facilities seek ways to keep members engaged while offering programming that extends beyond conventional workouts. Trainers can incorporate the Staircase & Ramp into personal training sessions, small-group training, athletic performance programs, active aging initiatives, and rehabilitation-focused exercise.
The flexibility of the system also allows facilities to create a dedicated destination for movement-based training. Rather than competing with rows of traditional equipment, the Staircase & Ramp stands out as an environment where members can explore movement patterns that directly translate to daily life and recreational activities.
For Club4 Fitness, that differentiation was a major factor in bringing MoveStrong equipment into their facility.
“MoveStrong is going to give us the ability to separate from standard weights, cardio, and classes. This is going to give us the ability to have functional movement no matter what’s your level: beginner, intermediate, or advanced. We know that functional movement is giving the ability to live longer, be happier, and stay stronger.”
As facilities continue to evolve, many are recognizing that members want more than isolated strength exercises or repetitive cardio sessions. They want opportunities to move in ways that improve overall capability, confidence, and quality of life. According to Kuka, that's exactly where the Staircase & Ramp excels.
“One of the great things that MoveStrong offers is the ability to differentiate traditional fitness clubs. We want to get people up moving on their feet, moving in multiple directions, moving the way the body is really intended. We want a piece of equipment that’s going to provide all that, add variety, and allow trainers and coaches to get creative and make it fun.”
By combining purposeful movement with nearly unlimited programming possibilities, the MoveStrong Staircase & Ramp has become more than another piece of equipment at Club4 Fitness. It has created a functional training destination that supports members of all abilities while giving coaches the tools to deliver engaging and effective workouts.
As more facilities look to create unique experiences and meaningful outcomes for their members, Club4 Fitness serves as an example of how functional training environments can elevate programming, increase engagement, and help people move better for life.
